Iain Runcie-Unger

Screening officer

Iain Runcie-Unger

Iain's main role at WLGMP is providing the project’s chlamydia screening service to Hounslow and Ealing residents. In particular he organises sessions at places where mainstream service providers are less able to, such as young mothers' hostels and commercial venues. Iain also regularly forms part of the rapid HIV testing service at the three WLGMP venues across west London.

Before coming to WLGMP, Iain has worked on both a paid and voluntary basis in programmes such as peer mentoring, health training, smoking cessation and refugee education for three years. Prior to that he worked in the IT industry for over 15 years.

Iain says: “Making the move from an office based job in IT where it was difficult to see that I was making a difference was something that I’d been thinking about for a while.  The work that I’ve been doing with WLGMP allows me to work on the front line and make a real positive contribution which is very rewarding.”
